Approximately twenty-five thousand residences in south-east Queensland found themselves lacking electricity on the start of the week after intense storm systems passed over the region, generating wind gusts reaching over 100 km/h.
Massive Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Damage
Homeowners reported giant hailstones measuring up to 7 centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that different parts across Queensland had been hit with significant hail.

Emergency crews were attempting to repair electricity service throughout the damaged zones, with approximately seventy teams working to address the extensive power failures.

State Emergency Services responded to over five hundred calls for help across the region, primarily for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

Tuesday was expected to become the most rainy day, with persistent thunderstorm potential predicted across various areas of both regions.

Public health experts cautioned that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, especially given the current weather patterns.
