I will overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair confronted each other to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former twice unified title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

Despite such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead attacked former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Difference

As the two fighters engaged in the customary face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how surprising this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is actually happening.
